Just because….a “behind the scenes” maybe?

Outside my window it’s been a hot day but it’s getting late, and there are more shadows, and a golden backlight as the sinking sun makes all the trees beautiful.  I can see the reflection of my whirling ceiling fan in the window, but it still feels hot in here, and I’m ready to jump in the pool again.

I am thinkingabout my graduation party on Saturday.

I am thankful for the fact that weather.com promises slightly cooler weather for this weekend.

I am wearinga light blue swimsuit and bright graffiti boardshorts.  It was a swimming day.  Also Old Navy flip-flops and a white tanktop.

I am reading a movie review, because some friends and I are planning to hit the drive-in theater after my grad party.

I am creating a backyard oasis!  OK well not exactly.  But I have spent a lot of time getting my yard ready for this grad party the past few days.  I lost count of how many flowers I’ve planted.

One of my favorite thingsplaying catch with my brother in the backyard.  Actually, it was more like batting practice with me pitching but yea.  It was fun to just chill and talk with him.  Don’t get to do that a whole lot.  And he’s such a great brother.

For education this weekunfortunately I still have some classes to finish up.  Even though it’s summer.  I know, it’s really very sad.

A spiritual lesson I’m learning…that Jesus is all I need.  To be happy as He made me.  To trust Him and have joy in Him.  To wait on His timing.  To not look on anyone else for my ultimate happiness, because He is the only one who will never let me down.

A godly character trait I plan to work on…whatever He shows me as needing work.

Scripture I am memorizing…I want to memorize the “wings like eagles” passage in Isaiah right now, because it’s been really precious to me lately.

I am praying fortwo of my best friends who are deploying to Afghanistan with the U.S. Marines in a few months.  Trust in God over a tough issue in my life.  That everything will go smoothly on Saturday and everyone will have fun!

For the rest of the weekmore family coming up for the party, more work getting ready, and the grad party on Saturday.  If you haven’t noticed yet, I’m pretty distracted by that right now!  Can’t think about a whole lot else.

A picture I’d like to share…

Of school and rain, sunshine and prom, dumb blondes and Jeeps, softball and car washes.

Outside my window the rain has gone away and everything is beautiful and sunny.  The sky is so blue and there are three little hummingbirds drinking at the feeder, some with ruby-red throats.  Everything looks so much greener.  After this muddy, miserable, wet weekend, the world feels like a child that has just got over a temper tantrum and is all peace and smiles again.

I am thinkingabout my economics class.

I am thankful for no more rain!  I can go running today!  And my softball game won’t get cancelled!

I am wearingpink and black checked sweats and a white shirt.

I am reading still in the middle of “Great Expectations”.  Not a fast read.

I am creating a new story, and a list of 50 life goals for my high school portfolio (a graduation requirement at my school).

One of my favorite thingsthat smell that comes after the rain.  You know what I mean?

For education this weeklots of economics, biology, and health.  More work on that portfolio.  Yesterday I signed up for my college classes for the fall semester at TMC.  I’m taking New Testament Survey 1, Biblical Fundamentals, Spoken Communication, World History 1, Intro to Music & Art, and United States Government.  Graduation is so soon I can’t believe it.

A spiritual lesson I’m learning…patience.  For everything there is a season.

A godly character trait I plan to work on…being more loving, humble, and not losing my temper.  I think I should have been born a redhead.  But anyways, I want to learn to listen and not get offended easily.  Basically to take correction better.

Scripture I am memorizing…this reminds me I need to start a new one!

I am praying forhow God wants me to use my summer.

For the rest of the weekI have two softball games, and on the days I don’t I have practice.  Tonight I have girl’s discipleship group and on Thursday there’s college group and a dinner date with some friends.  On Friday I might be going down to a friend’s house to spend the night and help with a car wash her youth group is doing the next day to help raise money for her missions trip to Panama.  There’s also a bridal shower Friday night.  Saturday is my school’s prom…still haven’t decided if I’m going!  It’s all pretty last minute.

A picture I’d like to share… OK well…since the girl driving was alright, I thought this was pretty funny (check out the license plate).  I have to admit, since I can be a pretty dumb blonde sometimes, I could totally see myself doing this.

A day in my life….

Outside my window it’s a gorgeous, sunny day!

I am thinkingthat its going to be very hot at softball practice today.

I am thankful for swimming pools and icy cold rivers.

I am wearingmy bathing suit under a white shirt and jean shorts.

I am reading “Great Expectations” by Charles Dickens and 2 Corinthians.

I am creating this post, at the moment!

One of my favorite thingsfamily pictures.  I’m looking at my friend’s right now.  It’s cute to see families all together and happy!

For education this weekI have to get back into the swing of things after spring break.  I worked on economics a lot today.

A spiritual lesson I’m learning……
to be unashamed of the gospel.  If I can’t be bold and effective right now where I’m at, how can I be used by God anywhere else?

A godly character trait I plan to work on…well, I don’t even know where to start with this one.

Scripture I am memorizing… Romans 8:35-39.

I am praying formy friend, who recently lost his dad in a car accident.  Salvation for a couple friends.  And that a family I know will be able to keep their house.

For the rest of the weekI’m going to be doing school and going to softball practice.  Two softball games this week!  And then on Friday I’m leaving for LA with my friend.  On Sunday there is a 5 K cancer walk/run in my town in memory of some members of our community who have struggled with cancer, including my friend and teammate’s mom, who passed away recently.  I would love to be able to participate if I’m back from LA in time.

A picture I’d like to share… in honor of the excessive heat, here is a picture of Dodge Ridge, where I went snowboarding a couple months ago.  Ahhhh.
